November 2010 — Dr. Mark Boylan participated in the 15th Annual Scientific Conference held by The Spine Research Institute of San Diego, November 20-21, 2010. World literature research was reviewed with physicians specializing in neuromusculoskeletal disorders, particularly as related to motor vehicle trauma. This included both biomedical and engineering literature. Besides Dr. Arthur Croft PhD, (c), D.C., M.sc., M.P.H., F.A.C.O. as a presenter, Frank Pintar Ph.D. professor of neurosurgery and biomedical engineering from The Medical College of Wisconsin was the keynote speaker.
October 2010—In August 1980, Dr. Mark Boylan and his fiancé Teresa were married. Five weeks later in October, they opened Boylan Chiropractic in a 1,100 sq. ft. office. In October of this year, they celebrated a 30 year anniversary for having provided healthcare in Apopka, Florida. With increased demand for services, office space over the years has tripled and support staff totals five.
December 2009—Dr. Mark Boylan has renewed his graduate
status of the Spine Research Institute of San Diego. Over 120 hours have been
spent reviewing studies of motor vehicular traumas including factors affecting
outcomes. Research of the epidemiology of whiplash injuries and conditions
resulting from automobile collisions were updated.
Additional research regarding bodily injury with these types of traumas
including those of the spine, temporomandibular (jaw joint), muscular pain
syndromes, thoracic outlet syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome, and chronic pain
were reviewed and critiqued.
A senior vice president of Vehicle Research for the Insurance Institute for
Highway Safety’s Vehicle Research Center was the key note speaker in November.
